The Human Geography, Planning and International Development Studies Department is home to some 130 staff members, visiting staff and doctoral students. Department teaching activities are carried out within the Human Geography, Planning and International Development Studies Education Institute. Research is centred in the Amsterdam institute for Metropolitan and International Development Studies (AMIDSt).
