Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies (IMES)

IMES is a multidisciplinary and interfaculty research centre that focuses on international migration and the integration of immigrants and their descendants in host societies in a comparative perspective. IMES is part of the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR).

Centre for Urban Studies

The centre is organised around one of 15 Research Priority Areas at the University of Amsterdam and focuses on the urban environment uniting social scientists, geographers and planners of different programme groups.

Institutions and Inequality (INSTINE)

INSTINE unites social scientists, political scientists, geographers and demographers, educational specialists and economists from the University of Amsterdam and the Free University to study inequality and the role of institutions.
