Robert Kloosterman regards his honorary professorship as a welcome opportunity to further intensity research cooperation

Effective 1 September 2009, Robert Kloosterman, professor of Economic Geography and Planning at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) was appointed honorary professor at the Bartlett School of Planning, a faculty of University College London (UCL).
Kloosterman had already been collaborating with Prof. Peter Hall and Prof. Nick Phelps of the UCL for some time. He regards the honorary professorship as a welcome opportunity to further intensity research cooperation. ‘For example, imagine comparing the urban systems in London and Amsterdam. Or - in an entirely different vein - a nice little study comparing the seemingly endless string of reorganisations at Dutch universities to the situation in the United Kingdom.'
Kloosterman's honorary professorship also includes teaching tasks. He will be lecturing at the UCL several times a year, most likely starting in March 2010.
